Privacy policy
Short version: the app counts how often its games get played, so I can see what to work on. Just counts. No scores, no words, no names, and nothing that could point back to you.
Who this is from
Another Word Game is made by Evan Travelstead and published by Studio Travelstead LLC. It is a solo project. There is no server of mine behind it, no account to create, and no login.
What the app counts
The app sends a small number of anonymous events: that a Daily was started, finished or replayed; that a free trial play was used, and in which game; that the unlock page was opened; that a purchase was completed; and that a leaderboard was opened. Each event is a name and, at most, which game it was about.
It never sends your scores, the words you make, your name, your Game Center name, your email, your location, or any identifier the app made up for you.
How those counts are handled
The counts go to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. Before anything leaves your phone, your device is reduced to a salted, one-way hash that neither I nor TelemetryDeck can turn back into you, and that cannot be matched to your activity in any other app. The data is not linked to your identity, is not used to track you, and is never sold or shared for advertising.
Game Center
Game Center is optional. If you sign in, your Daily score and your scores in the other games are sent to Apple’s leaderboards, where your Game Center name and score can be seen by other players. That service is Apple’s and is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. If you do not sign in, the game works the same and nothing is posted.
Your progress and iCloud
Your streak, daily history, best scores and free trial plays are saved on your phone. If you use iCloud, a copy is kept in your own iCloud account so your progress follows you to a new device. That copy belongs to your Apple ID. I cannot see it.
Purchases
The one purchase in the app is handled entirely by Apple. I never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only that the unlock has been bought.
Reminders
The daily reminder is optional and off until you turn it on. Reminders are scheduled on your phone by the app itself. Nothing about when you play leaves your device to make them work.
Sharing
The share card and share video are made on your phone. They leave it only when you choose to share them, and from that point they are handled by Apple or the app you shared to, under their terms.
Ads and tracking
There are no ads, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
Children
Another Word Game does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, this page will be updated and the date above will change with it.
